Erlebnisse in Hoge Veluwe National Park
The Hoge Veluwe National Park is one of the largest in the Netherlands and is located in the central part of the country in the province of Gelderland near the cities of Ede, Wageningen, Arnhem and Apeldoorn.
The national park covers about 55 square kilometers. One of the things that makes the park unique is that it is privately owned, which is why it is fenced.
It protects exceptional landscapes of heaths, sand dunes and forests; and is home to numerous protected species, yet they are known for the "big four" which include mouflon, deer, roe deer and wild boar.
Its Interpretation Center has contributed to sensitize millions of people in the restoration and protection of the environment.
It also has a wonderful art museum, the Kröller-Müller Museum, with works by Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Odilon Redon and several others. The Jachthuis Sint Hubertus mansion is another popular attraction.
Visitors to the park can ride one of the 1,000 free white bicycles and pedal along more than 42 kilometers of paved routes, including the outdoor sculpture garden.
