Der Zoo von Barcelona ist ideal für einen Familienausflug. Über 7.000 Tiere aus aller Welt sind hier zu Hause, darunter Löwen, Kängurus, Elefanten, Erdmännchen und Krabbeltiere. Von Salou aus lässt sich ein toller Tagesausflug unternehmen.

Für jeden Geschmack ist im Zoo von Barcelona etwas dabei. Und wenn wir angekommen sind, haben Sie einen Vormittag voller Entdeckungen vor sich. Kleinkinder können die Ziegen und Meerschweinchen auf dem Bauernhof streicheln, während ältere Kinder sich mit den interaktiven Ausstellungsstücken beschäftigen. Vergessen Sie nicht, einen Blick in die Kunstgalerie zu werfen - alle Bilder wurden von den ansässigen Gorillas gezeichnet.

    We had a fantastic trip, it was brilliant to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel door. Carlos and Michael looked after us well, and made sure we knew everything required. The only thing I'd mention (which wasn't a problem for us), is you only get 2 hours 'free time' in Barcelona if doing the zoo as well, but we were suitably tired enough to fall asleep on the return journey anyway!

    Theresa was absolutely fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and made the journey too and from Barcelona enjoyable. The zoo was a fantastic experience however the staff in the food hall were not very understanding to our SEN Childs needs. This made the experience very uncomfortable and quite distressing for Riley.

    Unfortunately majority of the zoo was under renovation so it meant lots of the animals were unable to be seen properly or at all. The guide was lovely and friendly, even making the efforts to collect us directly when we were at the incorrect pickup location. however he rambled a lot on the bus in when giving information and would have been better with a script as I felt we missed lots of vital information. When booking this excursion it may be beneficial to add a map of pickup points.

Maybe take a stroll along the pedestrianised Las Ramblas and visit La Boqueria indoor market where you could opt to try some of the tasty treats on offer. A panoramic drive through Plaça Espanya and over Montjuïc Mountain, with its bird's-eye views of the city and waterfront, round off the day before heading back to base.

The monastery complex consists of several buildings, including the basilica, the sacristy, the choir stalls, the library, and the museum. The basilica was built in the 19th century and it's a prime example of neo-Gothic architecture. The monastery is also served by a renowned boys' choir, the Escolania de Montserrat, which dates back to the 14th century, making it one of the oldest in Europe.As you look around, you can sample the herb liqueur made by the monks and watch the brand new, interactive audio-visual presentation on Montserrat's history. And don't miss the chance to buy tickets for the funicular to the summit – the views of the Llobregat valley from the top are phenomenal.
