There was a communication issue early in the tour as our German/English guide only spoke in German. He didn’t know that there were 4 English people in our minibus. This was not remedied until after we reached La teresitas beach. The actual drive through the mountains was excellent and we all enjoyed the simple, but tasty lunch. A simple aid for older clients such as myself would have been a step to get up into the bus. As it was I made use of a hand from the driver to get up and down

Leaving your hotel in an eight-seater minivan, you'll head to La Laguna, famed for its pastel-coloured palaces and collection of Mudejar-style chapels, churches and convents. A quarter of the town's structures date from the colonial period up to the 18th century. So rich is its architectural heritage that UNESCO listed it in 1999 because of its authenticity. After free time to explore La Laguna at your own pace, why not mingle with locals at the weekly market?
From here, you'll head to the crescent-shaped beach of Las Teresitas, complete with palm trees. The scenery changes dramatically next, as we journey through the laurel forest of Las Mercedes en route to Taganana. This whitewashed hamlet cascades down a slope in Anaga Rural Park. Here, you'll enjoy a lunch made from locally sourced ingredients in a family-run restaurant. The afternoon features a scenic drive through the volcanic Anaga Mountains – a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve – stopping at the 360-degree viewpoint at Pico del Inglés and at Cruz del Carmen viewpoint.
