There are few defense towers that have been preserved in the Netherlands- the Hoofdtoren is one of them. Still standing tall since 1532, the Hoofdtoren is a striking Dutch national monument located in the city of Hoorn.
Formerly used as a defense tower, the Hoofdtoren now houses the Restaurant De Hoofdtoren. This Gothic-style tower, made of Gobertanger limestone and brick, is located directly at Hoorn’s harbour.
