Qué hacer en Chichén Itzá
Chichén Itzá es un importante complejo arqueológico Maya situado en México, en la parte norte de la Península de Yucatán. Las ruinas, que cubren un área de tres kilómetros cuadrados, pertenecieron a una gran ciudad que fue uno de los centros más importantes de la región en el período epiclásico de la civilización Maya, entre los siglos VI y XI. El sitio comprende numerosos edificios representativos de varios estilos arquitectónicos, por ejemplo, la Piramide de Kukulcán, el Templo de los Guerreros, el campo de pelota, el Observatorio, el Monasterio y otros templos más pequeños en las cercanías muy bien conservados.
Chichén Itzá fue declarado Patrimonio Mundial por la UNESCO en 1988 y fue votado como una de las 7 Maravillas del Mundo Moderno en 2007.
