Qué te espera

Dramatic landscapes and rugged, volcanic shores come as standard in Tenerife. But, not a lot is said about the rich agriculture the island offers. On this tour, you'll journey through the south and get to know the island's culture and identity. You'll see how aloe vera is grown and learn about its many uses at a plantation, explore the lofty village of Vilaflor de Chasna and sample local wines. Ivan, one of our expert local guides, says “Vilaflor was once called Chasna. But, when a ship captain called Pedro de Bracamonte visited, he spotted a beautiful Guanche girl and shouted Vi la flor de Chasna, which means I've seen the flower of Chasna – after this, the village got its name.”

The dry climate and year-round sunshine in the Canaries mean that aloe vera thrives here, even though it is not a native species – it originally came from the Arabian Peninsula. You'll take a guided tour of the plantation, and the owners will share their knowledge about the curative powers of this well-known plant, which is used for medicinal purposes in cultures throughout history.

Next, you'll visit Vilaflor. Perched on the southern slope of the island's volcano, Mount Teide, the views down to the coast from 1,400 metres above sea level are next level. The village has an almost Alpine feel that's totally different from the tropical coastline – it has the largest pine forest in the Canaries on its doorstep. After a look around the village, you'll visit an award-winning family-owned winery and sit down for a tasting.

Det beskrevs som en 1/2 dags utflykt, men den varade i det närmaste 6 tim. Det hade varit bättre om det hade inlagts en lunch då det blev många timmar med enbart vin provning och lite snacks

Almond blossom hiking tour in Santiago del Teide

Tenerife's softer side comes into view on this gentle hike through Santiago del Teide, where winter days are marked by brightly coloured almond blossoms. The route winds along peaceful orchard paths and open countryside, where you're treated to views of the Chinyero volcanic area. Along the way, you'll learn about local farming life and how the island's microclimates bring the almond blossoms to life each winter. Carefully designed to connect you to both the land and the locals, the walk reflects a respectful approach to nature. Luis, one of our local expert guides, says, “these paths tell the story of our villages, by walking them respectfully we protect our landscape and keep our traditions alive.”Your day starts with a relaxed hotel pick-up, joining a small group as you wind your way up to the highland village of Santiago del Teide. That's where your expert hiking guide leads you onto the trail. From the very first steps, you'll feel the landscape shift – volcanic soil under your feet, old stone terraces, quiet hamlets and the scent of almond blossoms drifting across the fields. As you follow the well-marked path through the orchards, your guide will share stories about local farming traditions and why almond cultivation is such a big deal in this region. And of course, there's time to stop and snap some photos of the Chinyero foothills before you continue on.Lunch isn't included, but you'll have the chance to buy snacks, try a sweet-almond goodie or sit down to enjoy your own picnic. With transfers included, this outing is a super-easy, effortless way to experience a different side of the island on an exclusive TUI route that you won't find anywhere else.

Half-day private tour of Teide National Park

Ready to rise above it all? This journey takes you straight from your hotel to Spain's highest peak, where otherworldly vistas and rugged lava fields have earned Teide its UNESCO World Heritage status. After a private pick-up from your accommodation, you'll stop at impressive viewpoints along the way – perfect for capturing photos of the volcanic formations and unique island flora. As local guide Carlos says, “Every layer of Teide's rock tells a story of fire and time. Standing here, you're seeing millions of years of the island's volcanic history unfold before your eyes.” You'll take a breather at Las Canadas del Teide, a massive volcanic basin shaped over centuries of eruptions that feels like you're stepping onto another planet. It's the perfect spot to stretch your legs, breathe in the crisp mountain air and sip something warm. With no rush and a pace tailored especially to you, you'll have time to experience Teide's volcanic beauty in your own way. Next, you'll visit the park's tourist information centre, where Teide's story really comes to life. You'll wander through immersive exhibits that dive into the island's origins, with guides on hand to share fascinating insights. You'll also find a native flora garden and interactive displays that trace the island's historic altitude zones through the eyes of legendary explorers like Alexander von Humboldt. There's even a cosy café and a shop if you fancy a bite or a keepsake. When you're ready, you'll hop back in the vehicle for a comfortable ride back to your hotel.

VIP La Gomera by minivan tour from north of Tenerife

La Gomera is the Canary Island where time stood still. Be whisked away in VIP class on the ferry from Tenerife and explore its peaks and valleys in the best way possible – by luxury minivan. Highlights include Abrante viewpoint, San Sebastian and Garajonay National Park – Spain's last remaining rainforest. Arianne, one of our guides on this tour says, "La Gomera is a return to the past, to the origin of the Canary Islands. It's a totally different world."In little over half an hour after landing, you'll go from sea level to more than 1,300m as you snake your way up towards Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are camera-grabbing views of the island's Jurassic-like landscapes along the way. Garajonay is steeped in Canarian mythology, as your guide will explain. There's a stop to explore the mystical Laguna Grande laurel forest, which is so moist that many tree trunks are smothered in moss. You'll tuck into a typical Canarian lunch at a restaurant in the heart of this peaceful and natural forest setting. Here you'll experience a demonstration of silbo gomero, the ancient ‘whistling language' used by islanders to communicate over long distances from valley to valley. After this peek into the heritage of La Gomera, which is still taught in schools there today, you'll head to a square by the port for a drink, with free time to wander the capital, San Sebastian. Finish off the day in style as you head to the VIP section of the ferry where food and drinks are included to while away the crossing.
