Etna on Sisilian tulivuorikompleksi, joka on syntynyt kvartäärikaudella. Se on Euroopan suurin ja yksi maailman aktiivisimmista tulivuorista. Tästä vaikuttavasta sisilialaisesta tulivuoresta on ajan myötä tullut tärkeä nähtävyys saarelle vuosittain saapuville matkailijoille, sillä se on yksi harvoista aktiivisista tulivuorista maailmassa, jonne pääsee helposti.
Se sijaitsee Sisilian itärannikolla, Catanian maakunnassa, ja sen ympäristö on tunnettu monenlaisista maisemista: kaupungeista, tiheistä metsistä, laavan peittämistä autioista alueista ja ajoittain lumen peittämistä korkeammista kohdista.

“Bussikyyti Giardinistä kohti Etnaa ja siinä mukana ollut opas oli ok. Mutta välietapilla 1900 metrissä ei myrskyn takia toiminut mikään. Bussin opas ei tiennyt, eikä osannut toimia poikkeuksellisessa tilanteessa. Ryhmäläiset eivät pysyneet hallitussa ryhmässä. Tilanne oli sekava. Maksettua hissi/konsoli kyyti oli peruttu. Pääsimme vain puoleenmatkaan maastoautoilla. Harmitti, kun olimme maksaneet huipulle asti ja pääsimme vain 2/3 osaan. Raju myrsky pilasi matkamme.”
“Liian kovan tuulen vuoksi hissit eivät olleet toiminnassa. Pääsimme kuitenkin 2500 metriin busseilla. Siellä ei kuitenkaan ollut opasta, joka olisi ohjannut meitä ja kertonut Etnasta. Värjöttelemään asemalla hetken ja yritimme sittelöytää paluubussia takaisin alas, mutta missään mihin opasteet näyttivät, ei ollut yhtään bussia. Kaikki ryhmästämme pyörivät opasteelta toiselle, kun bussikuski ohjasivat meidät sisälle rakennukseen ja siellä kahvilahenkilökunta ohjasi ulos. Olimme eksyksissä!”
“Ansonsten eine gelungene Tour, nur das Wetter war leider sehr schlecht.auf dem Ätna. Kalt, Nebel, Wind und Schnee. Fabio konnte uns unterwegs im Bus trotzdem viele Eidrücke vermitteln.”
“Allereerst kwam de bus 50 minuten te laat en dat is niet fijn als je aan een drukke weg staat te wachten. als we dit eerder hadden geweten hadden we normaal in het hotel kunnen ontbijten. Verder is er niet verteld dat het op de Etna koud was dus we waren hier niet op gekleed. Staat wel in de beschrijving maar was fijn geweest als ze dit nog even hadden benoemd. Ook kon je niks zien , tenzij je bijbetaalde en de reisleidster was niet goed te verstaan, slecht engels!!! terugreis was veels te lang.”
