If your return flight departs late in the evening, then this is a great way to make the most of your last day in Turkey. There's lots to look forward to, including a scenic Dalyan riverboat cruise, an anti-ageing mud bath and a riverside lunch. You'll also have some free time on Iztuzu beach, renowned for its turtle sanctuary. At the end of the day, you'll be able to freshen up and refuel before your flight in a nearby no-frills hotel. Ceren, one of our expert local guides, says, 'Nature rules at Iztuzu Beach, aka Turtle beach. A magical spot with a dramatic setting, new resorts were planned here in the 1980s, but these were scrapped and instead some areas of the 4km long beach are protected for nesting Loggerhead turtles.'

Cruise down the River Dalyan on an eco-boat designed to minimise impact on wildlife, heading for the mud baths. Treat your skin with the anti-ageing clay and have a dip in the warm sulphur pool. After a tasty lunch of freshly prepared local specialities at a riverside restaurant, rejoin your river boat to sail past the rock-hewn Lycian Tombs dating to 400BC.

Next, we'll set sail for Iztuzu beach, a haven of natural beauty. There's free time for swimming, sunbathing and enjoying the unblemished surroundings. Finally, we'll head back to a local no-frills hotel for a chance to freshen up. You won't go hungry either, with a buffet dinner to tuck into. And what's more, you'll have the use of a hotel room right up until the transfer to the airport.

    Vulcan was a good tour guide. His explanation about the tourist spot was great and very informative. The lunch was ok. The mud bath as an experience. If you have a sensitive skin, dont do it. Don't forget to bring your own towel as it will cost 250tlr. Bring your own water was well to keep you hydrated.

    Great day to spend the last day with plenty packed in. The river cruise especially was fantastic and we managed to get to see the turtles. I did have issues with getting to some of the places because of my mobility but the staff and other guests helped me on and off the boat as there was a high step. The only think was a disappointment was the food at the river cafe stop for lunch and drink cost there which were much higher than on boat. Hotel for shower and rest good idea and close to airport.

    Really enjoyed the sailing / cruising. My only issue - a minor one was the cats at the restaurant that were walking around and begging for food. There were signs up not the feed them but some in our party were not happy with them under the tables tapping their legs.

    Hotel buffet was not child friendly option but the overall day in Dalyan was great. The hotel checkout hotel was fine but we had to go over the road for kids food

    We found the tour guide amazing, knowledgeable, great English and funny. Staff at the hotel were not helpful, and drinks were not included so we had to pay for them. We were told we would be fully all inclusive at hotel reflecting the package we had at Cettia Beach. We found the hotel to be basic and one of our rooms had no AC despite asking for assistance with this. Food at the hotel was good, but was a little disappointed to have to pay for drinks. Staff were rude and not forthcoming.
