You'll travel from Agadir to see some of the city's highlights, experience Djemaa el-Fna by night, dine in an opulent riad and check out the seaside city of Essaouira on your way back. Ibrahim, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘I was born and bred in Essaouira, but my family moved away when I was 14. Now, when I return, I'm filled with nostalgia as I tour the alleys where I used to play football with my Arab and Jewish friends. Essaouira has always been a multicultural melting pot.'On day one, we'll hit the road to Marrakech, where on arrival you'll delve straight into the medina's warren of tightly-packed streets. Spend the morning taking in sights as we drop by places like Jardin Secret, before lunch at Dar Nejarine. After some free time to explore, we'll head to Djemaa el-Fna at dusk – the best time to see it – before a tasty dinner and traditional entertainment in a riad.On day two we'll head to the coastal city of Essaouira. Its mellow atmosphere, narrow winding streets laden with kaleidoscopic carpets, peeling-paint houses with and heavy old wooden doors make it a wonderful place to wander around. Walk the ramparts of the harbour, known as the Skala, where electric-blue boats bob in the water, or discover the atmospheric medina. There's a lunch stop included followed by free time to explore, before returning to Agadir in the early evening.

Tiout Taroudant Tour

From Agadir, you can easily head out into the surrounding countryside to discover lush green oases and historic walled towns. You'll travel to the palm-filled oasis of Tiout, get to know the traditional way of life in Taroudant and even spot a few tree-climbing goats along the way.

Guided Atlas Mountains 4x4 tour

From sea level to high altitude, this is a full day trip with a side-order of adventure. You'll travel by 4x4 into the Atlas Mountains from the coastal plains of Agadir to discover the Berber village of Imouzzer Ida Outanane. Jamal, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Imouzzer means “waterfall” in Berber, the language of the Atlas Mountains. Indeed, there are several waterfalls in the heart of our green valley, a place known especially for the quality of its honey.'Your High Atlas Mountains off-road adventure begins with a light breakfast and then a photo stop at the cool, palm-clad Tamzargout oasis, where you can stretch our legs. As we travel higher up into the mountains, the jaw-dropping views over Paradise Valley are sure to leave an impression. We'll arrive in the village of Immouzer to see how life in a typical Berber mountain community unfolds. On hot days, you might see local kids jumping off the rocks into the natural pools just outside the village.As you stroll around the village, you'll pass stalls selling Moroccan souvenirs and the prized local honey. Jamal says, ‘My mother used to prepare an artisanal treat known as “amlou”, made with Immouzer honey mixed with crushed almonds and argan oil, a real Berber delicacy.' Next it's time for an al fresco lunch prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. You'll have some free time to relax and take in your dramatic surroundings before we return to Agadir through a different route in the mountains.

Essaouira UNESCO Heritage Site

Known as the ‘Jewel of the Atlantic', Essaouira is an atmospheric fishing port with age-old souks, pastel blue seaside houses, and a bustling UNESCO-listed Medina. You'll have plenty of time to discover this coastal gem with a guided tour and a visit to Espace Othello Gallery.

You're in for a day of Agadir's kasbah, cable car and carpets on this private tour that captures the cultural heart of this city from hilltop fortress to souk. You'll begin with a view that takes in the sprawling whitewashed houses, the yacht-filled marina and the curve of beach where Agadir Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. But, as local guide, Amina, explains, “the most distinctive view has got to be the Arabic inscription of ‘God, Country, King' written in white stones on the hillside below the kasbah. It's an unofficial motto of Morocco, sharing the country's faith and patriotism.” The modern cable car will whisk you 236 metres up the hill from the marina station to the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella. It's a six-minute journey each way, so you've time to grab your camera and take in the views. At the top, your guide will show you around the phoenix-like fortress, which has been forced to resurrect twice after earthquakes devastated the original structures in 1755 and1960. Back down in the city, your next stop is the Argan cooperative. Here, you'll discover the secrets behind the production of authentic bio Argan oil – a staple in local cuisine and cosmetics.The final part of your day is a trip to one of Morocco's largest markets, Souk El Had. Try not to be intimidated by its 6,000 shops and stalls – it's a labyrinth, but your local guide is your superpower here. They'll help lead you through the narrow allies stacked high with a mix of colourful ceramics, lanterns, rugs and more. Take your time to enjoy the bustling atmosphere, breathe in the scent of fresh mint and cumin and pause for cup of tea before you do as the locals do and join in with some haggling.

Starting at sea level on the Atlantic coast of Agadir, you'll take your adventure to the high altitudes of the Atlas Mountains on this full-day tour. Your expert, local guide will lead you on a private 4x4 tour that takes in both the cultural and natural wonder of Morocco's rural landscape. Salma, one such guide shares more, “from start to finish this day is as much about exploring the local community as it is exploring the countryside. At our first stop in Alma, we'll meet a Berber family and share a traditional breakfast of sweet mint tea and freshly baked bread.” At your next stop, at the Oasis of Tamzargout, you'll get your first taster of the palm-fringed swimming holes and rocky gorges that will characterise the rest of the trip. The road then winds through Paradise Valley, Salma adds, “it's a beautiful spot, very aptly nicknamed by Jimmy Hendrix when he visited in the 60s.” From there, as you climb into the Ida-Outanane Mountains, you'll feel the air cool and see almond and argan trees lining the track.The village of Immouzer is the centre point of this trip. At 1,160 metres above sea level, it marks the beginning of the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. You'll spend plenty of time here, checking out the cascading waterfalls, steep, rocky valleys and terraced hillsides – trust us, you won't be short of somewhere to point your camera. Settle in for a traditional lunch here, with homemade bread and olive oil, a Berber tagine and Moroccan salad. Be sure to get a taste of the local honey here for a sweet finish to your trip, before you're driven down the mountain on a different route, letting you see as much of this striking land as possible.

There's something about riding a buggy across the Timlalin Dunes as the sun dips down over the coast. You'll dip and weave through soft sand before slowing things down at a local ranch, where an al fresco Moroccan barbecue is waiting for you. You'll spend an hour kicking up the dust along trails where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Moroccan coast.
