2021 a connu la création d'un nouveau cratère volcanique près de La Palma. Le volcan anciennement connu sous le nom de Cumbre Vieja est entré en éruption, modifiant complètement le paysage à l'ouest de la ville. En parcourant 5 km sur la montagne nouvellement baptisée Tajogaite (montagne fissurée), vous atteindrez presque le cratère. De là, des vues impressionnantes sur les coulées de lave et la vallée d'Aridane s'offrent à vous.
