Clearwater Marine Aquarium is not your ordinary aquarium. This all-ages aquatic attraction in Clearwater, Florida doubles as a non-profit marine animal hospital and rescue centre. Clearwater Marine Aquarium was also previously home to Winter the Dolphin, the star of the Dolphin Tale movie.

In addition to dolphins, Clearwater Marine Aquarium houses a variety of majestic sea creatures such as sea turtles, sharks, stingrays, otters, pelicans, and the list goes on. The animals you’ll find in this facility were found in the local area and were rescued while suffering from an illness or severe injury. While some are released back into the wild after rehabilitation, a number of the facility’s patients are unable to safely return to their homes due to a variety of reasons, which is why they are now permanent members of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium family.
