Cosa aspettarsi

In this tour you will visit three of Iceland's best-known sights which are commonly referred to as the Golden Circle in a small group experience. You will be heading out in a bigger bus with extra legroom and adjustable backrests for additional flexibility, comfort and peace of mind.

Your day will start with a stop at Gullfoss which is considered to be the queen of Icelandic waterfalls. Its powerful presence is an experience no one should miss as the waterfall cascades down to a deep gorge and is often crowned with a glorious rainbow.

You will then go to the Geysir geothermal area. This is a showstopper in its own right with spouting hot springs and a moonlike surface. While the enormous hot spring Geysir is the king of this castle, the main attraction here is its more active brother Strokkur, erupting every few minutes in a picturesque setting.

The last but certainly not least stop of the day is at Thingvellir National Park. This Unesco World Heritage Site is a unique place of visible geological wonders and the site of Iceland’s historical Viking parliament. Here you can stand between the Eurasian and American tectonic plates that are pulling apart at a rate of a few centimetres per year while taking in the rich Viking history of the area.

On the way back you might stop at a bonus destination, time permitting. While the Kerid Crater isn’t technically part of the famous Golden Circle, this 3,000 year old volcanic crater couldn’t be more picturesque and it makes for a special extra stop. Take a picture, post it on your social media and watch your account swell with views.

If you only have one day in Iceland, this is the tour you should choose!
