Yihaa! Wie de hele dag van oor tot oor wil grijnzen, gaat naar het Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park. In dit Wild West dierenpark vind je op een terrein van 60.000m² woestijnen en tuinen met dieren, shows, cowboy- en indianenavonturen. En dat allemaal vlak bij Puerto del Carmen.

Het park is niet voor niets zo populair. Er sluipen witte tijgers en Texaanse poema's in rond. Bekijk de geharnaste armadillo's, ploeterende schildpadden en slaperige leguanen. Er is ook een boerderij waar je de dieren aait en op pony's rijdt. De kids gaan los in de wigwams, maar pas op voor de grot van de medicijnman! Je peddelt wat rond of pakt een kajak en zoekt zelfs goud bij een houten watermolen.

Maar het allerleukst zijn de shows. De hele dag door voeren arenden en haviken een show voor je op, ze scheren rakelings langs je hoofd. Je ziet ook grappige papegaaientrucs en een zeeleeuwenshow. En je koelt zelf ook lekker af in de Pool & Splash zone waar je chilt bij het zwembad. Of wedstrijdje houdt wie het eerst beneden is van de glijbaan. En dat in een setting die Lanzarote waardig is: in en tussen lavarotsen. Je doet er precies waar jij zin in hebt.

It’s a great day out, lovely park that was very clean and animals well cared for. Toilets clean and changing areas good. Well organised for the buses even if a little bit manic when three buses arrive for different destinations at the same time.

Great trip, transfer was all smooth and plenty of room on bus. Went at the end of September and park was nice and quiet. Shows are amazing and a must watch to all of them, great waterpark although be warned they’re salt water pools

Animals didn’t have anywhere near enough water and enclosure are very small for some of the lager ones. The white tiger was heavily panting and had no water in the pool area at all. It was very sad to see and we left after 30mins of being there.

After lunch, you'll get to find out how grapes are grown at a volcanic soil winery. You'll sample one-of-a-kind local wines from La Geria, a unique wine-growing region created after the Timanfaya volcanic eruptions 300 years ago. Next up is the Salinas de Janubio salt flats where traditional methods are still in use. Seawater enters shallow basins, evaporates under the sun, and workers harvest the salt manually. These salt flats are a haven for migratory and coastal bird species.Thanks to its otherworldly natural landscape, Lanzarote was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1993. And the star of the show here is undoubtedly Timanfaya National Park. Follow the famous Lunar Route and explore lava fields, volcano craters and steaming geysers as you learn about why the whole island has achieved this special UNESCO-listed status. Then, experience it up close as you feel the heat beneath your feet and witness brushwood burn into flames.

Cesar Manrique’s Lanzarote tour with Cactus Garden and LagOmar

With its vine-laden lava fields, exuberant architecture and otherworldly landscapes, Lanzarote looks and feels like something from a sci-fi movie set. This exclusive half-day tour takes in the Cesar Manrique Foundation and his Cactus Garden, followed by a visit to LagOmar. Rosa, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Manrique convinced his fellow islanders to invest in tourism without overdevelopment, making sure any human impact is in harmony with our volcanic landscapes.'Manrique was admired by many in his lifetime, and his influence on Lanzarote's culture lives on. You'll first tour his Jardín de Cactus, where 1,100 species of sculptural succulents are grown. You can see instantly how Manrique's skill and vision enhanced the barren landscape. Similarly, the Fundacion Cesar Manrique demonstrates that harmony between the built environment and nature can succeed. A visit to the artist's home-studio, built into a lava field, is ample proof. Your final stop of the tour will be at LagOmar, a stunning spot that seamlessly combines nature and art. This unique place is set in a volcanic quarry and includes features like a cave-bar, restaurant, and a museum. Local legend has it that Hollywood icon Omar Sharif briefly owned it, only to lose it in a game of cards.

Guided wine-tasting tour of three Lanzarote vineyards

Built in his trademark style that fused whitewashed structures with volcanic bubbles and exotic plants, it's a joy to explore. Then, it's off to the family-owned Bodega La Geria. Here, vines are shielded from the winds by horseshoe-shaped stone walls, while the humidity retained by the ash helps them grow in this harsh climate. Enjoy a guided tour of the winery and taste some of its prized Malvasia wines.Next, nestled at the base of the Juan Bello volcano, you'll visit Bodega Los Bermejos. This boutique winery is famed for its artisanal approach, crafting exceptional wines from indigenous grape varieties like Malvasía Volcánica and Diego. Lanzarote’s carnival parade in Puerto del Carmen with transport

With enough feathers and sequins to rival Rio, Lanzarote Carnival is loud, proud, bold and brash. Prepare to be swept away in an entertainment extravaganza that sees the streets come alive with music, dancing and more. Happening just once a year, this is a great opportunity to experience it first-hand. Cristina, one of our local guides, says, ‘You'll be blown away by the batucada bands that provide the sound for carnival. They use a selection of drums, tambourines, bells and whistles to create a rhythm which is fast and repetitive.'Kitting you out with a few props to get you in the carnival spirit, we'll transport you to Puerto del Carmen – the heart of the action. Joining throngs of locals and visitors, Lanzarote's top carnival is a street party like you've never seen. With colourful costumes, sky-high headdresses and extravagant parades, it's a case of the brighter, the better. ‘The drumbeat gets everyone in the mood for a party,' Cristina says. ‘As you get close to the drums, you can feel the vibration, and you can't help but start to move to the rhythm.'In the run up to the fiesta, each carnival has a queen and a drag queen elected, so expect to see plenty of skimpy outfits and gaudy makeup, shaking along to salsa beats. It all culminates in a spectacular procession with streams of bands and cabaret dancers zigzagging through the streets in a feast of flamboyant fun. Glitz, glamour and lots of excitement – if you're on the island, don't miss out.

Lobos Island and Dolphin Watching Trip

Isla de Lobos, or island of the wolves, is as remote and wild as they come – and your destination for the day on this rejuvenating boat trip. Then, after about two hours, you'll board the jet boat once more to skirt your way back to Lanzarote – keeping watch for the flying fish that often put on a show.
