A wild canyon and market shopping are the star attractions of this full day excursion. You'll explore Manavgat farmers' market, enjoy a boat trip through the Green Canyon and stop for a swim at Oymapinar Dam Lake. Narin, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘At Manavgat market, you see vendors who are real specialists – one stall will be piled high with walnuts and nothing else, while next door there's a mountain of peppers or pomegranates. I always think markets are a good shortcut to understanding more about local culture and cuisine.'

Once you've had time to take in the colours, scents and sounds of the farmers' market, we'll continue our shopping with a stop at Dickman Textile Centre. If fashion is your thing, then you're in luck as you can enjoy a stress-free browse for clothing and accessories, a great place to practise your haggling skills. Next, we'll head for a riverside restaurant to enjoy a freshly prepared lunch made with locally sourced ingredients.

After lunch, it's all aboard, ready for a cruise down the Green Canyon waterway. Spectacularly rugged rock formations tower over you and the river, in shades of turquoise and green, snakes away into the distance. It's a tranquil slice of Turkish natural beauty. You'll be able to swim in these wild surroundings once the boat reaches the Oymapinar Lake.

Es wird alles international, und wenn die Bootsfahrt von polnischem Bus besetzt ist (Tui?) ist es zunächst gewöhnungsbedürftig , aber für die Zukunft nicht zu ändern Man hätte es sich gemütlicher, ruhiger vorgestellt auch beim Mittagessen

Der Canyon war sehr schön. Guide und Fahrer super freundlich! ABER: Auf die Märkte kann man hier komplett verzichten und durch andere Sehenswürdigkeiten ersetzen. Der Aufenthalt war hier zu lang. Essenspause: der Koch am Grill war teilweise unhöflich, nicht einladend, hochnäsig und sehr bestimmend. => Kleines Löffel von dem Bulgur pro Besucher und während wir saßen und aßen, warf er fast zwei Kilo (große Schüssel) davon ins Wasser von den Augen aller Besucher, was für Staunen gesorgt hat.

Eine kleine Wanderung in der Nähe des Stausee, z. B. Wasserviadukt, von 2-4 km als Ausgleich für das viele Sitzen. Das ist natürlich Abhängig von den vor Ort Temperaturen.

Der Ausflug insgesamt war sehr gut organisiert und geplant. Der Guide war super und hat uns viel interessante Fakten rund um Land und Leute gegeben. Einzig das Mittagessen war jetzt nicht so besonders aber vollkommen ok. Die Bootsfahrt war natürlich das Highlight und sehr empfehlenswert!

Narin, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Oymapinar Dam Lake is one of the largest reservoirs in Turkey, covering an area of approximately 19 square kilometres. The lake is fed by the Manavgat River, which flows south from the Taurus Mountains and eventually empties into the Mediterranean Sea at Side.' Your tour starts with a spot of shopping at Dickman Textile Centre. All aboard this Manavgat river cruise for a family-friendly day out on the waves. Pirate-themed games, swimming and the chance to get up close to the Apollo Temple – both kids and grown-ups are in for an action-packed day. Isra, one of our expert local guides, says, “there's something for the whole family on this cruise – kids will love the pirate-themed activities, and the adults have time to relax and enjoy the views of the Apollo Temple ruins from the deck of the ship.”The fun begins the moment you step on the boat. All dark wood and sturdy sails, it's every bit the authentic pirate ship. Accompanied by a crew of Jack Sparrow-style sailors, we'll cast off down the River Manavgat. The kids will be busy learning pirate language and having their faces painted by the entertainment team, while adults can sit back and sip on a refreshing drink from the bar. We'll anchor for a spot of swimming, before tucking into a tasty lunch served on board.After lunch, the route sees us venturing into the Mediterranean. Here, you'll get to admire the spectacular Apollo Temple ruins, dating back to 150 AD. It's been compared to the Maldives for its long white beaches and multi-toned blue waters. You'll have free time to take some photos of this otherworldly spot. Then we'll continue to Pamukkale for lunch. Afterwards, admire the bright white calcite terraces – they look like icy stalactites dripping from pools of sky-blue water.At the top of these travertines is Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the Byzantine Gate and marvel at the ruins as you stroll towards the vast bowl-shaped theatre. On the way back, you'll tuck into a tasty dinner in a forest restaurant, too.
