At the indicated time, you will meet your guide at the Cologne Central Station and take a train to the westernmost city in Germany: Aachen. After an hour of travel, you will leave the station and begin a guided tour of the historic center of Aachen.
You will cross one of the entrances to the medieval wall, Marschiertor, which dates back to the 13th century. As you walk through the streets of the old town, you will delight in the aroma of the pastry shops dedicated to the famous Printen cookies. They have become an emblem! Finally, you will reach the Aachen Cathedral and its Treasury, a colossal monumental complex with origins dating back to the 8th century. Next, you'll contemplate the building par excellence of Carolingian architecture, the famous Aachen Town Hall, and you will pass by the bourgeois house converted into the Couven Museum and the picturesque doll fountain, the most famous in the German city. You will end this tour in the most important tourist center in 18th-century Europe: the Elisenbrunnen building. After that, you will have an hour and a half of free time to continue exploring Aachen on your own. Finally, you will meet the guide again to take the train back to Cologne.
