Att göra – Klädhallen Sukiennice i Krakow
Klädhallen ligger i mitten av Krakows viktigaste torg, Rynek Główny, och är den största byggnaden på torget. Det kallas så eftersom det ursprungligen byggdes för att fungera som ett centrum för textilhandeln, men på grund av en brand 1555 förstördes det nästan helt och byggdes senare.
Det kan beskrivas som det äldsta kommersiella centrumet i världen, där du inte bara hittar textilier, utan även bärnstenssmycken, spetsar, handgjorda textilier, träsniderier, fårskinnsmattor och alla möjliga polska souvenirer och prydnadsföremål.
Bottenvåningen används nu för att sälja souvenirer och hantverk, medan första våningen är upptagen av galleriet med polska målningar från 1800-talet. En gren av Nationalmuseet, dess utställningar inkluderar verk av Jan Matejko, Piotr Michałowski, Jacek Malczewski, Henryk Siemiradzki, Józef Chełmoński och andra.
