Maria, en av våra kunniga lokalguider, säger: ”Isla Mujeres, eller 'Kvinnornas ö', var en gång en helig plats för mayafolket, som kopplade den till gudinnan Ix Chel. Nuförtiden är den en fristad för havssköldpaddor och ligger precis intill det UNESCO-listade Mesoamerikanska barriärrevet, vilket gör det till en utmärkt plats för snorkling, dykning och ekoäventyr.”

Dagen börjar med upphämtning på hotellet och incheckning på Marina Hacienda del Mar. Efter att ha hoppat ombord på den exklusiva TUI Collection-katamaranen färdas du genom det mexikanska karibiska vattnet och gör ditt första stopp för att snorkla. Korallreven här är något att skryta om, och du kommer troligen att se tropiska fiskar - och om du har tur kanske till och med en havssköldpadda. Barn över 8 år kan också vara med på det roliga.

Därefter åker du till Isla Mujeres centrum innan du anländer till vår exklusiva strandklubb, där det är avkoppling till punkt och pricka. Terrible from tui, they cancelled our taxi home while we are already on the trip and just got a text at 4pm asking us to sort our own way back. The marina was over and hour and a half from our hotel and didn’t have any taxi rank to ask for a lift back. We had to go into other hotels and ask them to sort our taxi as we had no numbers to call. We were just left there to sort thing out for ourselves after already paying tui do get us home.

I feel we were somewhat misled, this was supposed to be a trip to the island with snorkelling as part of the trip, the one thing that we most wanted to do as the snorkelling around the waters by the hotel are not good due to sea weed and very little rockery etc for sea life. We got on the boat after being told we couldn’t use our suncream to snorkel. Then when at water we were informed that if you are over 60 you couldn’t snorkel. It would be a good idea to let the client know this before they

The staff on the catamaran was absolutely fantastic they were very helpful getting on and off the boat and was always ready to help you if you needed any help with everything. They made sure you had always got a drink wether it be water or alcohol
