Lincoln Memorial är ett minnesmärke för USA:s 16:e president, Abraham Lincoln. Den ligger vid National Mall i Washington DC. Minnesmärket är ritad av arkitekten Henry Bacon. Lincoln Memorials konstruktion slutfördes 1922 och välkomnar mer än 7 miljoner besökare om året.
Abraham Lincoln mördades den 14 april 1865, nära inbördeskrigets slut. Han är känd som en ikon för nationellt arv och känd för sin starka arbetsmoral för att leda nationen. Trots att han kom från en ödmjuk början som en fattig pojke från gränsen mot alla odds, blev han president och förblir en av de mest älskade ledarna i USA.
Minnesplatsens yttre liknar ett grekiskt tempel och har Yule-marmor. När du utforskar interiörens tre olika delar kommer du att se en stor sittande skulptur av Abraham Lincoln i mitten och The Gettysburg-adressen och hans andra invigningsadress huggen i väggarna
Flera medborgarrättsrörelser har ägt rum här, inklusive det berömda "I Have A Dream"-talet av Martin Luther King Jr. den 28 augusti 1963.
Sedan 1966 har denna stora turistattraktion erkänts som ett nationellt register över historiska platser. Minnesmärket är nästan 24 meter hög och är 57 meter lång och är öppen för allmänheten 24 timmar om dygnet,
