Located in the northern part of the city, the luscious green hill of Tibidabo mountain soars above the buildings of Barcelona. Its rich pine-forest are enveloped in the Parc Natural de Collserola, a favourite hiking, running, and cycling destination of the region.

With many hiking and bike tours available, a visit to the top of Tibidabo is a must for anyone visiting the city for the first time. Enjoy the beautiful nature trails on your climb to the top, and from here you will be rewarded with endless stunning views of the city below and the surrounding coastline.

Once at the top you will find the small but charming Tibidabo Amusement Park. Over 100 years old, the amusement park is amongst the oldest in the world still in operation. Here, you will find over 30 attractions, shows, restaurants, cafés and entertainers in fancy dress. The park’s iconic colourful ferris wheel takes you to even greater heights, giving you a bird’s eye view of the amusement park, the city and beyond.

Located near the amusement park and visible from almost anywhere in the city, you will find the iconic Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor church. Admire the neo-gothic architecture, the stained-glass windows and beautiful stonework. Visitors can take an elevator up to the top of the church for a truly unforgettable view of Barcelona. Visiting the church is free but there is a small charge to access the viewpoint.

Away from the Tibidabo summit, you will find the Communications Tower (Torre de Collserola), a 288-metre-high telecommunications tower. Built for the 1992 Olympic games, the tower has an observation deck on the 10th floor and offers one of the best viewpoints of Barcelona.

Tibidabo can be reached by foot, car, public transport or via the Tibidabo Funicular. The climb to the top can be challenging, so if you’re short of time then public transport is recommended.
