Things to do in Katara Cultural Village
The Katara Cultural Village situated in Doha, the Cultural Capital of the Year of the Arab World, is the perfect destination for art and architecture lovers. It showcases the art and heritage of Qatar with a range of activities and venues to discover.
Inaugurated in 2010 during the Tribeca Film Festival in Doha (DTFF), two of the main highlights are the Golden Masjid and The Katara Masjid, also known as ‘the blue mosque’ - admire the beauty of its turquoise and purple mosaics.
Inside the cultural villages, you’ll find the Amphitheatre, a combination of Islamic art and Greek architecture, which hosts a capacity of up to 5,000 people. Keep an eye out for what’s on at the Drama Theatre, or at the Opera House, home to the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.
For children, the Planetarium is a great place to explore the wonders of the solar system or take them to the private Katara Beach. Watch them paddle, relax or try some fun water activities.
