Things to do in Westerplatte

The Westerplatte Monument and its ruins feature a 25-metre-high monument in the shape of a bayonet. The war memorial is located on the Westereplatte Peninsula in the Gdańsk, commemorating the Polish defenders of the Military Transit Depot and marks the outbreak of World War II in Europe.

Today, the battleground has been turned into an outdoor museum with a walkable exhibition that leads you through the Battle of Westerplatte from the Polish perspective. See memorials to the fallen Polish soldiers that are continuously decorated with flowers and candles. As well as, ruined buildings and bunkers from the battle have been stabilized and can be walked through.
