Things to do in Sint Janskerk, Gouda
If you’re an admirer of stained glass, we recommend you visit the impressive Sint Janskerk (St. John’s Church) in Gouda, the Netherlands. This giant Gothic church is most recognized for its 72 colourful stained-glass windows depicting historical and biblical scenes such as the Baptism of Jesus and the Last Supper.
Built during the 15th and 16 centuries, Sint Janskerk is dedicated to John the Baptist, the city of Gouda’s patron saint. Curiously, it's the longest church in the Netherlands with a length of 123 metres. With high ceilings, chandeliers, an organ, and more, Sint Janskerk has everything you’d expect in a church from the middle ages.
Sint Janskerk is on the UNESCO list of Dutch monuments and is also a part of the Dutch Museum Churches.
