Located only 12 miles south of the Austrian capital Vienna, the small market town of Laxenburg is most famously known for its castles - the Laxenburg Castle Park, the Old Castle, the Blue Court and the Franzensburg. With a history dating back to the 13th century, these grounds were utilized by the Habsburg monarchy as a summer residence from 1306 to 1918.
