Things to do in The Household Cavalry Museum
The Household Cavalry Museum is one of London's only living museums, dedicated to the ongoing work of the immaculately dressed soldiers who serve as the Queen's official bodyguard. With their elaborate swords and iridescent breastplates, the Horse Guards are most well known for their participation in ceremonial events such as The Queen's Birthday Parade and The Changing of The Guard.
Their first-hand accounts and thought-provoking displays will give you a real feel of what it is like to serve in combat or ceremonial duty in the Household Cavalry. Look through the glass into the 18th century stables and watch as troopers prepare their horses.
The museum is within Horse Guards, one of the city’s most historic buildings, located in Whitehall, Central London. It is within walking distance of Trafalgar Square, Parliament Square and Buckingham Palace. The nearest underground stations are Charing Cross, Westminster and Embankment.
