Things to do in Mudec Milan
The Mudec Museum of Cultures was begun in 1990 with the purchase of the old Ansaldo industrial plant at Porta Genova and the conversion of disused factories into studios, workshops and new creative spaces.
Mudec is an ethnographical museum spread over an area of 17,000 square metres and laid out around a large, covered central plaza on the first floor. As well as the museum collections, there is a theatre with three hundred seats for performances and the visual arts.
The ground-floor reception area includes a bistro, design store, ticket office, cloakroom, the Forum of Cultures, a conference hall, an educational facility, restoration workshop and repositories open to small groups for guided visits.
Mudec Junior is a space specially designed for kids, where children can experience the world’s different cultures through games, multimedia equipment and manual workshops.
