What to expect

Your day starts by driving from Reykjavik to the historic Thingvellir National Park, where both the American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. You'll get to experience a truly unique feeling of having one foot in two different places. Afterwards, travel onwards to the world-famous Geyser hot spring. Strokkur, another hot spring, is located nearby and is still very active today, erupting to heights up to 30 meters every few minutes. In the Geyser area, you will also have time to buy lunch or some snacks.

Next on the agenda is the Gullfoss Waterfall, also known as the Golden Waterfall. One of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland, Gullfoss will amaze you with its power and beauty, plummeting down 32 meters into a rugged canyon. These three attractions complete the classic Golden Circle, but that's not all you'll experience!

You'll also get to stop at the Kerid Volcanic Crater, a 3000-year-old crater that is 55 meters deep and offers a truly unique view of the Icelandic landscape. Altho booked through tui, it was Nice Travel who picked us up on time from our hotel. The guide "Bear" was an absolute treasure, very knowledgeable & informative - told us some really funny stories & legends & really made the trip a most memorable experience. Everything we saw was amazing & I can honestly say this has been the best trip I have ever been on. We were on a small coach, 30 of us, so it was so much more personal. Cannot thank Bear enough for being a top guide & driver! Well done!

Great day out but unfortunately we had heavy snow that although made the blue lagoon a more surreal experience spoiled the other experiences due to lack of time and visibility.

The locations that we visited were amazing and worth the price of the tour alone, but what really made it extra special was our wonderful guide/driver Jonas. He was not only incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, but made it so enjoyable through his warmth and humour along the way. We only had one full day in Iceland and he was a huge part of it.

IJsland staat bekend om zijn gletsjers, maar voordat in 2010 de Glacier Ice Cave handmatig werd uitgehakt wist niemand wat er zich onder de Jangjokull gletsjer bevond. Op deze tocht ga je diep deze afgelegen gletsjer in. En je bezoekt de Hraunfossar waterval.Nadat je bij de Husafell basis bent aangekomen, stap je in de ruige sneeuwtruck en begint de klim naar de ijsgrot. Onderweg kijk je je ogen uit op het ruige ijslandschap. Een ervaren gids leidt je naar binnen, waar de temperatuur altijd 0 graden is. Hier zie je hoe schitterend blauw het ijs diep in de gletsjer is.Verder naar het noorden van de gletsjer passeer je borrelende bronnen, adembenemende watervallen en sta je versteld van het uitzicht op de bergen. Je geniet nog na met een diner in een nabijgelegen restaurant. En als je geluk hebt, zie je op de terugrit het Noorderlicht.
