The Vatican Gardens have been a place of rest and meditation for the popes ever since 1279 when Nicholas III (Giovanni Gaetano Orsini, 1277-1280) moved his residence back to the Vatican from the Lateran Palace. Within the new walls, which he had built to protect his residence, he planted an orchard, a lawn, and a garden.

Besides the natural beauty of the gardens, Vatican City is rich in monuments and precious works of art. After the guided tour of the Vatican Gardens, you can access the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel with your skip-the-line tickets and spend as much time as you want inside.

After security checks, climb the stairs on the far left of the entrance hall. The meeting point is located at the Guided Tours desk (cash desk 15). Show the voucher received within 48 hours before your visit (NOT the one received immediately after booking) at the ticket office.

What to remember

The Vatican Museums require the name and date of birth of each participant. Please enter your data to complete the reservation
After successfully completing the reservation, you will receive two emails: the booking confirmation (immediately after submitting your order) and the actual confirmation mail by the local operator (two business days before your visit) with the ONLY voucher/ticket accepted at the entrance
Please note that the time you select in the calendar is your preferred time. If the chosen time is no longer available, the museum will automatically confirm the closest available time, which can be any time during opening hours on the selected date
