Things to do in National Stadium Warsaw

Built between 2008 and 2011, in anticipation of the 2012 European football championships, the National Stadium Warsaw occupies the area where the Stadion Dziesięciolecia Manifestu Lipcowego once stood. This old stadium was almost a historical monument for the city. Originally built in 1955 as a multipurpose sports space, the materials used were mainly rubble resulting from the destruction of Warsaw by German troops after the Warsaw Uprising.

Today the stadium is called PGE Narodowy and is presented as the most modern and innovative multipurpose arena in all of Europe. In fact, it is located within a sports complex called the National Sports Center (in Polish Narodowe Centrum Sportu). The facility includes an Olympic swimming pool, a multipurpose sports hall, a conference center, refreshment points and various services including social events and live concerts.
