Once you arrive at the Medina, explore the city, encircled by well-preserved ramparts that stretch for about 6 to 8 kilometres. The walls and gates are a testament to the city’s historical importance and provide a picturesque backdrop to the Medina.

Then it's off to explore the labyrinthine Souks of the teeming shopping district, where you'll pick up a bargain on locally produced artisanal goods – but don't forget to haggle.
