Things to do in Hardangerfjord
When describing Norway, it’s impossible not to mention the country’s magnificent fjords. A prime example of these fjords is Hardangerfjord, located approximately 80 km southeast of Bergen. At 179 km long, Hardangerfjord is the second-longest fjord in Norway and the third-longest on the planet, making it a popular sightseeing destination.
Hardangerfjord is certainly a standout among Norway’s fjords. The area features stunning landscapes with sweeping valley views. Sightings of natural wonders such as waterfalls are common, with Vøringsfossen and Steinsdalsfossen being two beautiful examples. The impressive Trolltunga cliff will have you feeling like you’re at the edge of the world.
Hardangerfjord extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the town of Odda in Norway’s interior, winding past various Norwegian islands along the way. To fully experience the fjords, we recommend you hike through one of the many trails or take a boat cruise past the local orchards, villages, and mountains.
