‘Art and magic in a German metro’ was the headline in the New York Times on the occasion of the opening of the 3.4 kilometre-long Wehrhahn line. Laying the tracks underground has not only relieved traffic congestion in the city centre of Düsseldorf. The art city of Düsseldorf is opening up new terrain underground.
