The guide was aware of the group members and checked everyone was ok at all times. He was interesting and knowledgeable with a little humour thrown in. I would have personally liked a little more time at the fortress because we only saw the outskirts. I suppose you could have stayed but then would have missed the guides knowledge at the statue and Berlin Wall placements. Overall fantastic however.
You'll start this trip by taking a stroll through the heart of Koblenz to reach the cable car station. After you've hopped into one of the gondolas, you'll rise above the Rhine river towards the hilltop Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Look behind you, and you'll see the rooftops of Koblenz from a bird's eye angle. Once you arrive at the fortress, you'll be taken on a guided tour of the museum, grounds and ramparts. It's been around since the 9th century BC, but was rebuilt in its current form in the early 1800s. It went on to be used as a military HQ in both world wars, but acts as a tourist attraction and open-air concert venue these days. After you've finished your tour, you'll take the cable car back to ground level.
