It was a very interesting and very informative half-day city tour accompanied by Rashid - the nicest, most helpful and engaged tour guide we could have. Apart from our schedule we visited many more places, heard a lot of interesting stories about Omans life and are very thankful for this experience!
Start your tour with a visit to Sultan Qaboos Mosque, one of Salalah's architectural landmarks. Admire its elegant white marble façade, intricately designed interiors, and tranquil prayer halls.
Then drive to explore a traditional Omani shop specializing in premium Omani dates, locally harvested honey, and other natural products like frankincense, rose water, and mountain herbs. Great place for sampling and purchasing souvenirs. After visit of shop let's leave through the atmospheric Al Haffa Souk, known for its aromatic frankincense, traditional textiles, and souvenirs. You'll also stop for a photo opportunity at Al Huns Palace, a historical building associated with the Al Busaidi royal family. Drive through the lush green belt of Salalah's plantations. Stop at a local farm or roadside stand to enjoy fresh coconuts, bananas, and papayas – a refreshing tropical experience! At the last we have shopping hour in a modern mall environment. Browse a mix of international and local brands, grab a coffee, or pick up last-minute gifts.
