Things to do in Point Loma
Known as ‘the place where California began’, the hilly peninsula of Point Loma was the landing place of the first European expedition to come ashore in present-day California in 1542.
Today, Point Loma is a must-stop when visiting San Diego, you’ll find a combination of history, breathtaking landscapes and multiple fun activities. The peninsula houses a national monument, countless galleries and museums, a national cemetery, a university, The Loma Club Golf Course and the biggest sportfishing fleet in Southern California.
On the western side of the peninsula, tourists and locals alike enjoy the famous Sunset Cliffs, for unique views of the ocean and the sunset, and if you're looking for great surf, Point Loma also offers several quality surf breaks along the western edge!
