Things to do in Oia

4.5/5 (187)

This eye-catching town is textbook Cyclades. Whitewashed buildings with electric-blue domes carved into the jagged cliffs overlook a volcanic gorge and the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean. Compared to its neighbouring island towns, Oia boasts a romantic and laidback atmosphere. Feel the sea breeze on your skin and immerse yourself in the peaceful ways of life of the Cyclades Islands, as you meander through the town's narrow streets.

Beaches are on tap in Oia. With some of the most striking and authentic coastlines in all of the Aegean, Oia is a beach-goers sanctuary. Black-sandy beaches and rusty-coloured cliffs surrounded by pristine waters are just a stone's throw away, waiting for you to be uncovered. From Baxedes and Armeni Beach to the secluded Ammoudi Bay, shores come in all shapes and colours.

“Not very much to see on the tour, left at the final stop to wait for sunset pictures far too long , trip not value for the money charged”

“The most important point to make is that my son was attacked by a large resident dog at Mesa Gonia, absolutely terrifying for him and us his parents, my husband sustained bruising to his arm whilst trying to remove the dog from our sons back. This dog was resident, charging from an open door, it didn't back off after being removed instead barring its teeth at me. I am extremely worried for future tourists and did try to contact TUI on our return but no available email, no one answering phone ???”

“It would have been better to have more time in Pyrgos as we were run up to the top then straight back down in 35”degrees of heat, time for a drink or snack would have been better. The stop at the ghost town everybody said it was a waste of time as they're were people living there and nothing to see the time saved could have been used at Pyrgos. The wine tasting was excellent and also Oia”
