Things to do in Lincoln Memorial
The Lincoln Memorial serves as a testament to the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Located at the National Mall in Washington D.C., the memorial was designed by architect Henry Bacon. The Lincoln Memorial's construction finished in 1922 and welcomes more than 7 million visitors a year.
Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on April 14, 1865, near the end of the Civil War. He is known as an icon of national heritage and known for his strong work ethic to lead the nation. Even though he came from humble beginnings as a poor boy from the frontier against all odds, he became President and remains one of the most beloved leaders of the United States of America.
The Memorial's exterior resembles a Greek temple and features Yule marble. As you explore the interior's three different parts, you will see a large seated sculpture of Abraham Lincoln in the middle, and The Gettysburg Address and his second inauguration address carved into the walls
Numerous Civil Rights Movement events have taken place here, including the famous "I Have A Dream" speech by Martin Luther King Jr on August 28, 1963.
Since 1966, this major tourist attraction has been recognized as a National Register of Historic Places. Standing at almost 80 feet tall and is 188 feet long, the memorial is open to the public 24 hours a day,

“Tolle Führung, sehr viele Informationen. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen!”
“Brittany and Calvin were both great. Excellent way to see the highlights of DC with a very knowledgeable tour guide. Well worth the time and money!”
“This was just the BEST! My son and I did the open top bus and riverboat day tour in DC. Our personal tour guide (Danielle I think) was very knowledgeable and taught us fun facts. They provided cold water for us. It rained later in the day and they even had ponchos. I highly recommend.”
“Die Tour sollte 6Std gehen waren aber nur 4 Std , den Friedhof den wir mit gebucht hatten, habe wir nicht besucht. Schade wir hatten uns dadrauf gefreut.”
