Beschreibung

Guided walk through the Lava Tunnel. Fantastic and beautiful worth seeing. Walkway in place but some areas of unsteady walking across rocks and ice.

We were collected from bus stop 9 but returned to bus stop 12 and expected to walk back to our hotel in blizzard conditions. We were not forewarned of this and my husband has a bad knee, so it was a bad end to an otherwise good trip.

This excursion was fantastic and well worth and visit. Our tour guide was brilliant and her humour really made it extra special. The lava tunnels are stunning and the history about them was fascinating. Would highly recommend.

Overall the lava tunnel trip was very good and the guide was very informative the only downside was the transfers it wasn't very clear on pickup times and what bus to get then at the bus terminal no one to meet you and you had to find the next bus yourself .

TUI Into Langjökull Glacier

Iceland is famous for its glaciers but until recently, what lies underneath the Langjokull glacier had been a mystery. In 2010, the first manmade Glacier Ice Cave was carved to take people inside the heart of this remote glacier ice cap. What's more, you'll also visit the Hraunfossar Waterfall. After arriving at Husafell base, you'll climb onto a rugged snow truck to start your ascent to the ice cave, exploring the rugged glacial landscape along the way. An experienced guide will lead the way inside, where you'll see the magnificent blue ice buried deep beneath the surface that stays at a constant temperature of 0°.All this is combined with stunning waterfalls and panoramic views of the mountains as you make your way north to the glacier. And on our return, you might – with luck – catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights dancing through the sky.
