Morocco's Atlantic Ocean coastline is the star of this tour. Journey through tiny fishing villages and hippie hangouts en route to Taghazout – a stretch of wave-washed sand that's been a surfer's paradise since the 60s. But you won't be joining the surf crowd in the sea – instead you'll hop on a sandboard to zoom down the towering Timlalin dunes.

Now, when I return, I'm filled with nostalgia as I tour the alleys where I used to play football with my Arab and Jewish friends. Essaouira has always been a multicultural melting pot.'On day one, we'll hit the road to Marrakech, where on arrival you'll delve straight into the medina's warren of tightly-packed streets. Spend the morning taking in sights as we drop by places like Jardin Secret, before lunch at Dar Nejarine. After some free time to explore, we'll head to Djemaa el-Fna at dusk – the best time to see it – before a tasty dinner and traditional entertainment in a riad.On day two we'll head to the coastal city of Essaouira. Its mellow atmosphere, narrow winding streets laden with kaleidoscopic carpets, peeling-paint houses with and heavy old wooden doors make it a wonderful place to wander around. Walk the ramparts of the harbour, known as the Skala, where electric-blue boats bob in the water, or discover the atmospheric medina. There's a lunch stop included followed by free time to explore, before returning to Agadir in the early evening.

Tiout Taroudant Tour

From Agadir, you can easily head out into the surrounding countryside to discover lush green oases and historic walled towns. You'll travel to the palm-filled oasis of Tiout, get to know the traditional way of life in Taroudant and even spot a few tree-climbing goats along the way.

Guided Atlas Mountains 4x4 tour

From sea level to high altitude, this is a full day trip with a side-order of adventure. You'll travel by 4x4 into the Atlas Mountains from the coastal plains of Agadir to discover the Berber village of Imouzzer Ida Outanane. Jamal, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Imouzzer means “waterfall” in Berber, the language of the Atlas Mountains. Indeed, there are several waterfalls in the heart of our green valley, a place known especially for the quality of its honey.'Your High Atlas Mountains off-road adventure begins with a light breakfast and then a photo stop at the cool, palm-clad Tamzargout oasis, where you can stretch our legs. As we travel higher up into the mountains, the jaw-dropping views over Paradise Valley are sure to leave an impression. We'll arrive in the village of Immouzer to see how life in a typical Berber mountain community unfolds. On hot days, you might see local kids jumping off the rocks into the natural pools just outside the village.As you stroll around the village, you'll pass stalls selling Moroccan souvenirs and the prized local honey. Jamal says, ‘My mother used to prepare an artisanal treat known as “amlou”, made with Immouzer honey mixed with crushed almonds and argan oil, a real Berber delicacy.' Next it's time for an al fresco lunch prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. You'll have some free time to relax and take in your dramatic surroundings before we return to Agadir through a different route in the mountains.

Known as the ‘Jewel of the Atlantic', Essaouira is an atmospheric fishing port with age-old souks, pastel blue seaside houses, and a bustling UNESCO-listed Medina. You'll have plenty of time to discover this coastal gem with a guided tour and a visit to Espace Othello Gallery.

Moroccan cookery class in Taghazout’s Targant Museum

You'll learn to cook speciality Moroccan dishes in a museum dedicated to the heritage of the local hero product – argan oil. At Taghazout's Targant Museum, you've got a three-hour session that combines hands-on cooking, cultural storytelling and practical knowledge about the role of argan in Amazigh traditions across the Souss region. Under the guidance of local chefs, in a small group, you'll rustle up classic dishes like couscous, tagines and pastillas – a sweet savoury pie. Then comes the best bit, you get to tuck into your own creations.

You'll then slow things right down at a local ranch, enjoying traditional Moroccan mint tea in a pause that feels truly deserved.

You'll be picked up right from your hotel and whisked to a nearby spa, where a professional will work their magic and gently melt away any lingering stress.
