Depart from Fisherman’s Wharf and head over the Golden Gate Bridge to the Russian River region for this Woods and Wine Tour. You'll first visit Korbel Winery for a full tasting of California Champagne and views of their historic landscape and buildings. You can also visit their on-site deli and pick up lunch or snacks. It's delicious, and you can order ahead if you choose to.

After that tasting, travel to Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve. Here you can see the Colonel Armstrong Redwoods Tree, which is over 1,000 years old. You can stay for 45 minutes to an hour and a half, if you choose. If you decide to visit for a shorter time, you'll go to downtown Guerneville to wander among this quaint American town. This is another opportunity to grab a bite to eat or window shop.

Lastly, you'll discover Russian River Vineyards, where you'll drink local wine overlooking the vineyard. Here they produce award-winning wines, but are farmers first and keep a strong connection to their products. There is a restaurant where you can order delicious sandwiches and salads, or even small bites, while you experience your tasting.

After all this, you'll go back to San Francisco through Sebastopol, where you'll see a different view of the California countryside.
