Cosa aspettarsi

La straordinaria sensazione del bamboo rafting attraverso il Parco Nazionale di Khao Sok sarà sicuramente un momento saliente della vacanza. Anchali dice: "Probabilmente vi bagnerete durante il viaggio a causa della natura delle zattere di bambù, quindi vestitevi comodi e portate con voi una borsa impermeabile per la vostra attrezzatura".

Dopo l'avventura di rafting, ci sposteremo al progetto di cura degli elefanti. Questa esperienza gratificante permette di trascorrere del tempo di qualità con gli elefanti in pensione, senza cavalcarli o toccarli, e di partecipare ad attività eticamente corrette come camminare con loro nella giungla. Dopo un pranzo tipico thailandese, concluderemo il viaggio con una visita al Tempio della Grotta delle Scimmie, da cui si può godere di una vista panoramica sul Parco Nazionale di Khao Sok.

The guide was amazing and really made the whole trip special. It was more travelling than I expected. The bamboo rafting was fun but it was torrential rain and prob wasn't the safest weather to do it in. Some didn't have ponchos - given the weather, should have been provided. Monkey temple and elephants were fab too.

Kunde ha varit en guide som kunde bättre engelska. Guidens engelska var ofta oförståelig och han berättade inte så mycket. Jag gjorde exakt samma tur från Kao Lak för två år sedan och då var guiden mycket bättre.

Our guide was excellent, group size was small, and driver drove safely. The river rafting is wonderful and was our favourite part of the trip. No riding at the elephant sanctuary which was good from an animal welfare perspective. Long day driving but worth it!

Nawa adds, ‘Geothermal activity underground heats the water to 42°C. When it reaches the pools at the waterfall, it's around 35° to 40°. The heat and the minerals in the spring water are great for your wellbeing.'Next, you'll walk along a nature trail towards the freshwater Emerald Pool. Bounce into the inviting waters and soak up the sights and sounds of the lowland rainforest. After lunch, admire the view from the lofty Tiger Cave Temple – the region's most famous – where a huge golden Buddha surveys the landscape.
