The tour starts at Chamarel, the colourful land where the earth separates into a rainbow of seven colours. View the plunging Chamarel waterfalls and the breathtaking landscapes of the south-western part of Mauritius on the way to Le Morne Brabant.

Be amazed by the optical illusion of the underwater waterfall. On the way back to Chamarel, enjoy the view of the Illot Fourneau, the Kite Lagoon and the white sandy La Prairie beach.

    Door dat ik in het midden zat kan je bijna niks zien behalve door je telefoon, of je moet over iemand heen hangen, en dat kan moeilijk als dat een vreemde is, ze delen in dus grote kans dat je niet naast degene zit met wie je de vlucht doet.

Sandya, en af vores lokale guider, siger: "Den sydlige del er, som jeg forestiller mig, som min ø så ud for 400 år siden. Jeg prøver at forestille mig, hvordan vores dyr levede her, f.eks. de gigantiske skildpadder og den uddøde dronte, og hvordan de nu beskyttede frodige skove var".Rundturen begynder med et besøg i Trou aux Cerfs, en sovende vulkan med et 90 meter dybt krater omkranset af fyrretræer. Derefter besøger vi Voiliers de l'Ocean, vor kunsthåndværkere fremstiller teaktræsmodeller i hånden af galeoner fra det 18. århundrede. Laurna, en anden af vores lokale guider, fortæller: "Det tager ca. 300 timer at færdiggøre en lille båd på 70 cm, mens det for større både tager 1 til 3 måneder, afhængigt af størrelsen". Derefter på Takamaka-vingården kan du smage på litchi-vin og finde ud af, hvordan det kasserede skind bruges. Dette besøg støtter beskæftigelsen af lokalbefolkningen i en traditionel virksomhed.Ved Grand Bassin, en sø, der er hellig for hinduerne, kan du besøge et templet og bede en bøn.
