Je avontuur begint met een schilderachtige rit door het adembenemende landschap. Je kijkt je ogen uit op de lavavelden, kraters, vulkaankegels en geothermische opstellingen die dit park echt uniek maken. En je zet het allemaal op de foto terwijl je gids je meer vertelt over de fascinerende vulkanische geschiedenis van het park. Dan ga je naar het El Diablo Restaurant waar de maaltijden op een bijzondere manier gekookt worden: met vulkanische hitte – elektriciteit en gas hebben ze hier niet nodig.

De excursie was een goede combinatie van veel zien en informatie ontvangen over het park en het eiland en plezier maken op de dromedaris. Voor mijn zoon van 8 was het voldoende. Wat we wel jammer vonden was dat er weinig tijd was om na de experimenten even rond te kijken en de omgeving in je op te nemen. Het was nu foto maken, plassen en door naar de bus.

De activiteiten volgden elkaar snel op. Daarnaast stelde de rit met dromedaris weinig voor. Het is een rondje lopen van 20 minuten, maar niet door het vulkaanlandschap. Omdat je ook met veel toeristen tegelijk gaat, zou ik dit onderdeel in het belang van de dieren eruit halen en langer onderweg stoppen om van het landschap of vulkaanactiviteiten te kunnen genieten. Het heeft ook met verwachtingen te maken. Je kan ook de tekst aanpassen zodat je beter weet wat je te wachten staat. TUI=duurzaam?

This half-day tour is Lanzarote in a nutshell. You'll call in at El Golfo lagoon, journey through Timanfaya National Park and visit the Salinas de Janubio. We'll even throw in a wine tasting session to round off the tour.First up, you'll visit the waters of El Golfo - it's emerald waters have starred in many a Hollywood film over the years. But that's just an appetiser for the main event – the visit to Timanfaya National Park. Famed for its moonlike landscape is dotted with lava fields and black rocks, you'll see the ‘Fire Mountain', to name but a few.We'll continue the tour with a stop in La Geria for a sip of some local wine before we reach Salinas de Janubio, the largest salt flats in the Canaries.
