Med sine mange vinranker på lavafelt, morsomme arkitektur og kaktusfylte steinbrudd, ser og føles Lanzarote ut som om den er hentet ut av en sci-fi-film. Denne halvdagsturen tar deg med til Cesar Manrique Foundation og Cactus Garden, etterfulgt av et besøk til LagOmar. Manrique ble beundret av mange i løpet av hans levetid, og hans innflytelse på Lanzarotes kultur lever videre. Han var en allsidig kunstner som skapte malerier, skulpturer og arkitektoniske verk, og satte bærekraft i høysetet av sine kreasjoner, lenge før det ble et moteord. Fundacion Cesar Manrique viser på samme måte at harmoni mellom det bygde miljøet og naturen kan lykkes. Et besøk i kunstnerens atelier, som er bygget inn i et lavafelt, er et godt bevis på dette. Siste stopp på turen er LagOmar, et fantastisk sted som kombinerer natur og kunst på en sømløs måte. Dette unike stedet er designet av Manrique og hans meddesigner, Jesus Soto, og ligger i et vulkansk steinbrudd med blant annet en hulebar, restaurant og et museum. En lokal legende forteller at Hollywood-ikonet Omar Sharif en kort periode eide stedet, men at han mistet det i et kortspill.

Die Organisation und einfache Bezahlung bar oder Kreditkarte waren super einfach. Die Stationen des Ausfluges waren sehr sehenswert und interessant. Der Reiseführer hat uns viele Informationen über Cesar Manrique und Lanzarote gegeben. Allerdings gab es viel zu wenig Zeit, um sich alles in Ruhe anzuschauen. Geschuldet war das sicher daß im Vorfeld erstmal ca. 1,5 Stunden andere Urlauber/Interessenten sprichwörtlich eingesammelt wurden, bevor es Überhaupt auf die " Spuren Manrique 's " ging.

If you like driving around most of the TUI hotels picking up guests the length of Lanzarote for over 2 hours each way. This is the tour for you! The tour guide David was excellent explaining everything. However TUI should split the groups from North and South hotels to reduce the ridiculous time wasted picking up and dropping off. Out of a 6 hour trip only just over an hour is actually spent at the 3 attractions - cactus garden, Cesar's house and LagOmar. This could be a good trip in a small bus

Next up is the Salinas de Janubio salt flats where traditional methods are still in use. Seawater enters shallow basins, evaporates under the sun, and workers harvest the salt manually. These salt flats are a haven for migratory and coastal bird species.Thanks to its otherworldly natural landscape, Lanzarote was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1993. And the star of the show here is undoubtedly Timanfaya National Park.
