Chichén Itzá é um importante complexo arqueológico maia encontrado no México, ele fica localizado no norte da Península de Yucatán. As ruínas que cobrem uma área de 3 quilômetros quadrados, pertenciam a uma cidade que foi um dos centros mais importantes da região em torno do período epi clássico da civilização maia, entre os séculos VI e XI. O site inclui vários edifícios representativos de diferentes estilos arquitetônicos como a pirâmide de Kukulcán, o templo dos guerreiros, a quadra de baile, o observatório, o convento e templos menores conservados nas proximidades.
O local de Chichén Itzá foi declarado Patrimônio Mundial da UNESCO em 1988 e foi eleito uma das 7 Maravilhas Modernas do Mundo em 2007.

“2 hour into the journey, we were still within only a few kilometres of where we were picked up, picking up other people at local hotels. We had no communication with the tour guides in this time, they didn't introduce themselves, tell us about the itinerary for the day or even if there were toilets on the bus. Then the tour guide got off the bus at McDonald's, everyone was waiting in the bus for 10 minutes and she came out with a coffee. Trip advertised as 12 hours, lasted 15 hours, very tiring”

Cette activité m'a semblé être une embarcation à dépenser de l'argent plus qu'une découverte. Vraiment dommag.La guide Wendy lors du conte rapide de Chichén Itza n'a malheureusement pas été d'un bon encadrement. Elle nous a mis en garde contre les vendeurs mais nous a envoyé exclusivement vers Doña Rosita qui vendait un éventail et une petite pierre, 100 usd.”
