Wat een geweldige dag! Ik heb ontzettend veel geleerd over Bonaire, deze tour is echt een must. We hebben bijna heel het eiland gezien en veel interessante informatie gekregen over de flora & fauna, en over de geschiedenis en cultuur van het eiland. A professional guide will take you along the coast road to the north visiting Goto Lake with its beautiful vistas and, at times, many flamingos. The tour continues to the oldest settlement in the Dutch Caribbean, Rincon. You'll visit the “Museo Chichi Tan”, a typical old Bonairian home where you are offered a local refreshment, “awa lamunchi” and a small snack.
Afterwards you'll drive up “Seru Largu” for a nice Island view.
Heading southeast to the mangroves, you'll learn about the mangroves ecosystem and the creation of the thousands of years old coral surface for which Bonaire is famous. All this while you enjoy the view of the wonderful waters surrounding Sorobon Beach, one of the prettiest windsurf places in the Caribbean.
As you make your way back, you'll have the opportunity to witness the salt pans with their vibrant colors. You'll also pass by the historic salt works and the preserved huts that provide insight into the lives of the enslaved people who once labored there. Your knowledgeable guide will share detailed explanations about the significance of these sites. Several stops will be made during this interesting tour to let you enjoy the surrounding and to give you plenty opportunities to take pictures.
