Take an exciting ride with the rack railroad from Wilderswil and enjoy the views from the Schynige Platte at 2076 m above sea level.

The Schynige Platte Railway has been running on the same picturesque route between Wilderswil and Schynige Platte since 1893. This nostalgic wooden rack railroad is open and allows a clear view. Once at the top, you will enjoy not only the wonderful view of the Bernese Oberland, but also a rich fauna and Swiss tradition.

The Schynige Platte bears the nickname "Top of Swiss tradition". The Swiss Flower & Panorama Trail, a botanical alpine garden, and alphorn players await you there between 11.00 am and 2.00 pm.

The valley station is located at the Wilderswil train station. You´ll then pass by the intermediate station "Breitlauenen" and reach the mountain station "Schynige Platte"
The Schynige Platte cable car is equipped with wooden benches
In case of bad weather conditions, there may be train cancellations
Dogs travel free of charge
Prams and wheelchairs should be folded together if possible. It is better to register the wheelchair in advance by telephone with the train or directly at the departure station so that everything runs smoothly
Please note, you will be asked to show your General subscription card, Swiss Travel Pass, or Half Fare card if you book one of the reduced adult tickets
