A lovely day out. Our guide Salvador had lived and grown up in Ischia so was able to tell us how the island has changed to being a tourist resort where it was more small farming communities. He gave so much information and was passionate about his Island. The lunch and wine tasting was good too. The food was simple but tasty and they catered for gluten free. Very enjoyable day and I recommend it to see all areas of the island with lots of photo stops.
This full day island tour not only takes you to see the best of Ischia, but you'll travel by small buses so that you'll reach places few visitors go. What's more, you'll have a rustic lunch with wine, overlooking a vineyard.
By taking the roads less travelled, you'll experience what Ischia is really about. We'll kick things off in Ischia Porto and head towards the northwest along the coast stopping along the way to admire places like Casamicciola, Lacco Ameno and Forio as your guide explains a bit about local history, culture and wildlife.
Once you reach a local vineyard in the hills above Panza, you'll relax over a typical lunch with three wines before moving on to discover the south of the island. You'll drive through the countryside, climbing steadily towards Mount Epomeo, ticking off towns like Serrara Fontana, Barano, Buonopane, Piedimonte and other small villages on your way back.
