The bulk of the bus were on the sea screamer trip; we were going to the aquarium. It did feel like we were an add on. We were told that the trolley back to pier 60 was free - it wasn’t- and that it ran more regularly. We waited at a bus stop for an hour to get back. We were given two hours at the aquarium (not nearly enough time, as this was the sole purpose of OUR trip) so we missed the provided lunch and had to buy our own in the aquarium. Staff were lovely and sympathetic -just ill informed.
When it comes to some of Florida's great, undiscovered gems, the new-look Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Clearwater Beach is right up there with the best of them. It is a supporter of marine rescue and rehabilitation and some of its animal have even worked in Hollywood productions. This tour offers the chance to enjoy a real in-depth experience with this marine life center. The fact that is a working animal hospital, some of the animals can change on a regular basis, but you will always find rehab views of sea turtles, dolphins, stingrays, and even sharks, as well as pelicans and otters. The all-new Ruth and JO Stone Dolphin Complex, a series of pools and working areas where the center cares for its complement of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins.
The daily showcases for their care and attention make for must-see experiences, notably through the huge underwater viewing area of the Window of Wonder.
