It was good fun we got to see loads of different things and try cool stuff like raw cacao beans, a big church in the city etc. What you are not told is that there are no windows on the bus, so bear that in mind I was a little intimidated at times that gangs of guys are just staring at me us. Also the river swim didn't happen (not that I mind oarticularly) but we actually ended up at Macao beach. Again not a problem but somewhat misleading.
Experience all the diverse culture of the Dominican in just one day. Like a mini island tour, you'll visit Higuey basilica, learn about the national sport at a baseball academy and try local products, a river swim and even some horseback riding. What's more, this is an eco-trip, meaning all your activities are 100% sustainable.
In the back of an open-topped truck, you'll roll through the bush. With entertaining guides by your side, you'll get to know the local community at the village school and drop by a baseball academy to learn of the nation's favourite sport. Taste organic tea, coffee and chocolate in a typical house and see how hand-rolled cigars are made with a good glass of rum.
Visit the beautiful basilica of Higuey and you'll break for a lunch of delicious Dominican fare – drinks included – at an authentic rural ranch. Afterwards, you can take a tour of the estate, hang out in the hammock area or saddle up for a horse ride through the jungle. A refreshing river swim with an open-bar rounds off your day. All-in-all this is one action-packed adventure that's 100% sustainable.
