I was the only person on this trip from my hotel, I was picked up on time and in a nice air con van and with a friendly driver and we had a nice chat on the way. Knowing the ranch in advance would have been useful to see where I was goi g to understand what I would see on the trek, so it for me it was ‘Rancho Caribeño’ and you visit Río Maimón Natural Park. The horse was scooby-doo, well looked after and easy to manage. Guide was great and beautiful trek. Photos upsell at the end expensive!
Leaving nothing but a trail of hoof prints behind you, you'll trot, canter and gallop your way through forest and palm-fringed beaches on this horseback ride. You'll have the chance to experience the Dominican Republic's landscape exactly the way nature intended.
From the hotel, you'll soon arrive at a traditional ranch where you'll be given all the gear you need and paired up with a horse. Then, into the stirrups and up onto the saddle, you'll set off through untouched countryside with only peace and tranquillity around you.
You'll take the reins through forest trails, darting in and out of shaded spots and looking out for wildlife as we go, until we arrive at the mouth of the River Maimon – a protected area. You'll then canter past sugar-white beaches before reaching the ranch once again.
